Your building’s foundations can be compromised

Rushing floodwaters are a force of nature. Its purpose is only one to go to the path of least resistance going to the lowest part of the ground. Anything that gets in the way are either swept away or go diverted from it. But eventually anything the isn’t anchored is likely to sweep away too. The ground to which it is anchored can be washed away.
Floodwater current are the most dangerous in the world. Anything can be swept away including vehicles. Even at six inches it can knock a person off his feet due the strength of the current. Given enough time and intensity, it can weaken even the strongest foundation there is.
It can happen to any building’s foundation. Anything that is buried in the ground can be exposed and compromise its integrity. The foundation of a building is what gives it stability. It is where its primary skeletal structure stands. Any damage to the foundation would mean the building is unstable and unsafe.
Of course, reinforcing the foundation with more concrete can delay the collapse but with the non-stop flooding every year, it will slowly eat away the concrete chip by chip.
Demolishing the whole building is the best option to prevent a total collapse. Any weakened foundation is a sure ground for condemnation of the building. Even skyscrapers are vulnerable to structural damage should the foundations are affected.
Putting a building foundation beside a waterway is a bad idea in the first place. Why build a structure in on top or near a flood prone area? No amount of concrete will be able to withstand the onrush of a flood. However, diverting the floods away from the foundations can be done. It will protect the ground around it.
RS demountable flood control barriers can protect the integrity of the foundations by diverting the current of the floods. It can also withstand the crashes from debris that come with the floodwater. It is specially designed to last for many years. Only the rubber seals is needed to replace after a certain period of time. Aside from that, it is virtually maintenance-free.
Save yourself from misery from spending money on reinforcing your foundations and built a flood control barrier to protect them. Safety of your tenants is the primary concern on your list.
